I plan to be vending at the Southern Illinois Spinners and Weavers Guild fiberarts festival so if anyone is interested in coming I'll put a link to the webpage on the events page.
Whew, I have been away for a while and since I no longer have internet at the house my posts will continue to be scarce.
I plan to be vending at the Southern Illinois Spinners and Weavers Guild fiberarts festival so if anyone is interested in coming I'll put a link to the webpage on the events page.

First is from Lunabudknits minus the flax top that I picked up and some dyes, is not 1 but 3 colors of glitz, 2 oz of random colors of silk noil, a Lunabud Batt and some purple merino (that Stephanie handed me on the way out, isn't she sweet?) Second I have here 4, 5oz balls of Donna Jo's fantastic roving blends Third is some of Kathleen's dreamy washed Lincoln lamb locks. And Forth is some super Shetland roving from George and Theresa. A dark brown and a creamy oatmeal white with little dark fibers throughout. While I did buy a few other things I think I'll save the rest for another blog post!
I just got back from the SIFAF(see header ) yesterday. And boy was it a blast!!!!!
I spent the whole day Saturday there getting lots of fiber goodies and tools and dye and ... inspiration. I also did it again, I don't for the life of me why I can Never remember to take any photos!!! :-/ but I plan to take a few of some of the things that I got a the fest. I think that some of the venders that I was inspired by this year were Stephanie from lunabudknits ,Donna Jo from Breezy Manor , Lynne from Blue Acorn ,Victoria from Follow the star studio , Kathleen from B&G Farms, George and Theresa from Buerer's Sheep farm and Barb from The Weavers Loft to name a few that I know among many great others. I also got to try a book charkha thanks to Andrea aka DigitalDurga on Ravelry, thanks So much for being such an enabler, now I have one more thing on my list of things to look for. :-D Happy spinning y'all Whew having company is a blast! And having 4 people at one time is different too. First my Aunt and her granddaughter got here and we talked and chatted then my grandparents got here and amid more talking we ate dinner, afterwords to my surprise my cousin wanted to learn how to knit, which I was happy to teach her. She is amazing, after an hour or two of learning what to do she took off and was knitting like a pro. The next day we went shopping in a town about 60 min away stopping in various shops. With my cousin knitting on the way there and back , and of course I had a spindle spinning as we went, as well. By the next morning before my Aunt and cousin has to go she had time to finish up knitting a change purse and left with some yarn and needles. So here is a big cheer for my cousin (who shall remain nameless) WooHoo! Happy Knitting! Well I'd better go and get back to our other guests.
Well finely I'm back to my poor neglected blog, I haven't had a whole lot of time to work on my fiber arts the past few weeks but I have gotten some weaving done (see the photo below ) and a bit of spinning and carding too.
But this Saturday I had to start on some clean up on my studio. Start being to word I ended up getting some rearranging done and a some vacuuming too but have plenty more to do.(well there is always next weekend before company comes over) Sometimes I wonder where the time goes, I mean you can plan on doing something and days later you wonder why you haven't gotten it done. Sometimes it's because you change your mind or plan, but more often than not it's just because you just got busy or lazy and didn't do what you wanted to do.
For any one that read my last post you know that I my battery's died in my camera and I wasn't able to get any photos of the SISAW meting but that next 2 photos are what I spun at the meting. And a more open photo of the one yarn Now these are projects I have made for the Southern Indiana FiberArts Festival. More info here, a little anyway.
Whew what a day, today I headed up to Metropolis, IL to meet up with the SISAW the Southern Illinois spinners and weavers group. They meet on the first Saturday of the month. I found out about them a few moths ago when they had their spring festival (small but fun), but I haven't had a chance to go there since then. I had a blast, talking and spinning and talking. I think that it is the only guild like meeting I have ever managed to go to. There is nothing like having a group of people that get together to talk and spin or knit or weave. (or for that matter any thing that they all have in common ) I had planed to take a few photos, but wouldn't you know it that my camera battery's died when I got there. So alas I don't have any photos.
Blogging, ugh I hate the blank page syndrome, but I must say it happens to me a great deal more than I'd like. So I am going to try this out and see how it works out. So on that note I'm going to try to post a photo.
